Neville Cowan, Senior Pastor
Rev. Neville E. Cowan is a native of Jamaica, West Indies. He grew up in a very religious home and was converted to Christ at the age of 17. He began preaching almost immediately, first in children’s meetings and then in small rural churches and youth meeting.
Pastor Neville, as he likes to be called, received his theological education and preparation for ministry at Jamaica Theological Seminary in Jamaica, and did graduate work in the United States at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary and Boston University School of Theology.
Pastor Neville has served pastorates in Jamaica, in Massachusetts and New Hampshire before coming to Canada in 1980. In Canada he has served pastorates in New Brunswick and in Ontario. His most recent pastorate was First Baptist Church in Orillia where he served for 9 years.
He has also served on the Adjunct faculty of Jamaica Bible College, Jamaica Theological Seminary and Atlantic Baptist College (now Atlantic Baptist University), and was Vice-President of Jamaica Theological Seminary for several years. He also served for five years as a staff-worker with Inter-Varsity Christian Fellowship and Inter-Schools Christian Fellowship in the Caribbean.
Pastor Neville and his wife Ruby have been married for 44 years and they have four children all living in Ontario. They enjoy their ministry in the church as well as traveling to various countries and places for ministry.
Adam Hodgins, Associate Pastor – Worship & Youth
Adam Hodgins was born in the small northern Ontario town of Nipigon. He grew up in a very typical Christian home and dedicated his life to Jesus at the age of 16 after his family moved to Trenton Ontario and he got involved in a youth group there.
After high school Adam attended Heritage Bible College for two years. After his stint at Heritage Adam got married and became a Youth Leader at Grandview Baptist Church in Kitchener Ontario. He and his wife attended Grandview until May of 2009 when they Joined Talbot Creek Community Church.
As well as Youth ministry Adam has also been very involved in Worship ministries wherever he found himself. Adam has played guitar since 1994 and it is one of his biggest passions in life.
Adam and his wife Heather have been married 7 years and have a 1 year old son named Grayson. They quickly adjusted to life here in Brechin and felt at home right away.
