Visitors are always welcome at Talbot Creek. Whether you are looking for a church home, or just curious about church, we’re glad to see you! Here are some things that you may want to know about us before you come.
Where We Are
From September through the end of June, we meet at the Brechin Public School. In the summer months, our Discovery service moves outdoors to the Brechin Park. If you turn west off of Highway 12 in Brechin (towards Lagoon City), then the school is on your right just before the railway crossing. The park is on your left.
When to Come
Our weekly worship service starts at 10:00 am on Sunday. If you arrive early, and we encourage you to do so, you can join us for a light continental breakfast and enjoy meeting folks.
What to Wear
At Talbot Creek, you’ll find some folks in jeans, and most folks dressed very casually. We’re far more interested in who people are than in what they wear.
Disability Access
Brechin Public School is totally wheel chair accessible, as is the Park Pavillion.
Children
All children are invited to join our nursery (infants to 4-year-olds) or multi-age Sunday School (Kindergarten through Gr. 6)
Youth
Pastor Adam Hodgins meets weekly with local youth on Sunday evenings at 6:30 pm. Special outings, camping events and socials are also scheduled. He may be contacted on Facebook or through our Contacts on this web site.
What To Expect
8:00 am: The ‘set up crew’ arrives at the School/Park to set up sound equipment etc. Everyone is welcome!!
9:15 am (or thereabouts): Anyone who wishes to do so gathers for a pre service prayer time.
10:00 am: Our main service begins with a time of welcome, praise and praise. Praise is lead by our youth Pastor, Adam Hodgins, with his guitar. He is usually joined by various other musicians, some on vocals, perhaps a drummer, perhaps a bass guitarist, or another acoustic guitarist.
10:20 am (or thereabouts): After the first part of the service, children will be called forward to be welcomed and prayed for as they leave for ‘Kids at the Creek’.
11:10 am (or thereabouts): Usually our church service wraps up by around 11:15. Once the service ends, please join us for some coffee and refreshments — after retrieving your children from the nursery, of course.
Offering?
We do have a donation box at the Welcome Table just inside the door where anyone who wishes may make a donation, but do not pass an offering plate. We want visitors feel that their time with us is a ‘gift’ to them.
